In the week beginning Monday 20th June, we made, and decorated, 600 mini rucksacks in all KS3 Geography lessons. We combined our campaigning with the Geographical Association’s ‘Worldwise Week’. The theme this year is ‘Making Connections’. Our students focussed on how we can connect with others around the globe to raise our voices in support of education for all children in emergencies.
On Friday 1st July, our local MP for Horsham, Jeremy Quin, came into school to meet members of our People and Planet club and receive the petition. He spent time talking to students and reading the messages on the bags we had displayed. We took some photos and presented him with two boxes of rucksacks and the petition!
We are going to do a press release to tell our local community what we have been doing.
