Invest in My Friends’ Learning: How the UK can reprioritise and protect funding for global education – read here!

The Send My Friend to School coalition is calling on the UK Government to protect and reprioritise global education within its international development budget and agenda, while also supporting efforts to sustainably grow domestic public budgets. As we approach the target date for achieving Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4) in 2030 and reflect on the last 25 years of our coalition’s advocacy, it is clear that ambitious action on education is needed now more than ever.

Let My Friends Learn: How the UK Government can protect children’s education during emergencies – read here!

The Send My Friend to School coalition is calling on the UK Government to support crisis-affected countries to build and invest in inclusive, resilient and gender-responsive education systems that can withstand all hazards to protect the learning of all children during emergencies. We are calling on the UK Government to take the following measures to PREPARE, PROTECT, INVEST, and ACT to secure children’s learning in emergencies.

Send My Friend to School is calling for the UK Government to launch a new global teacher strategy and work with international partners to recruit and train 1.8 million new teachers in low- and lower-middle income countries. Investing in qualified, well-trained, and well-resourced teachers is one of the greatest investments we can make in children’s futures and is key to unlocking a quality, inclusive education for all children.
