we invited our Deputy ( Guernsey equivalent of MP) to speak at our Guide Meeting to tell her about Send my Friend at school. She is head of the Overseas Aid and Development Committee for Guernsey. She then took our rucksacks and displayed them in the meeting room where all our Deputies meet. Comments from them included including “Thank you Deslisles Guides for reminding us that the ‘ ordinary things’ in our lives can be extraordinarily difficult for others in our world community. Your thoughtfulness has set an example to the rest of us”, and “Brilliant stuff…… Very humbling…..Deslisles Guides rock!”
