Shoes laid out to form the shape of a girl on a playground, with group of children in the background,
Pupils made a playground ‘sister’ from shoes.

66 Year 5 children and 22 Year 4 children from St Cedd’s wrote to their local MP, Simon Burns. He agreed to pass on their comments to Andrew Mitchell, Development Secretary.

The children were keen to further the campaign. Whilst discussing issues around poverty, they talked about how some children are too poor to wear shoes. They decided to remove their shoes in solidarity with these children and made a buddy shape in their playground. There are 132 shoes in their picture!
