Loreto College

Children displaying scarf artwork
Each class made a scarf message, and pupils collected thousands of signatures of support.

All our Year 7 classes made a class football scarf and got thousands of signatures. We held an assembly and then as a school we allowed all our girls to come in in football shirts on Friday June 18th, in exchange for a raffle ticket. We then raffled an England shirt signed by Fabio Capello, who opened our school fete last year!

We managed to raise over a £1000 and we are sending this money to our sister school, Loreto Sealdah in Calcutta. Here the students do a lot of work going out onto the streets of Calcutta and helping the street children to read and write. It is the intention that in the future a group of students will visit Calcutta to see how our money is making a difference.
