Send My Friend to School is calling for the UK Government to launch a new global teacher strategy and work with international partners to recruit and train 1.8 million new teachers in low- and lower-middle income countries. Investing in qualified, well-trained, and well-resourced teachers is one of the greatest investments we can make in children’s futures and is key to unlocking a quality, inclusive education for all children.

In 2021, the UK Government hosted the international climate summit, the Conference of the Parties 26 (COP26), where world leaders convened to discuss action on tackling the climate emergency. The Prime Minister has made clear that providing 12 years of quality education is a top priority, especially for girls, who are denied this right every day.
