Join young people in raising our voices for children around the world!

In February this year, the government announced cuts to the International Aid budget from 0.5% to 0.3% of GNI by 2027. This reduction of funding will have a devastating impact on millions of children and their futures.

Analysis from Save the Children UK has shown that in addition to the current 272 million children out of school these cuts could lead to a further 2.2 million not being able to access an education; which we know has life changing impacts not just for the child themselves but their family, community and wider society.

When hearing about this, the Youth Advisory Board at Save the Children UK came together and felt compelled to use their voices to support their peers around the world and campaign for the right to an equitable and inclusive quality education for all children.

This is what they have to say and how they would like as many young people as possible to join them in raising their voices for children and young people everywhere.

“Young people have the power to change the world.

We – the youth advisors – care about children being prioritised and making sure that Save the Children, the government, and decision-makers take young people’s views seriously.

We joined the Youth Advisory Board to amplify our voices, to inform people about what we are passionate about and the challenges we are currently facing, and to learn and meet other young people.

As youth advisors, we want to use our voices to influence to make change for the better.”
